State Representative Dan Caulkins (R-Decatur) released the following statement after the U.S. Attorney’s announcement of indictments against four of Speaker Madigan’s allies:
“The cloud of corruption continues to hover over Mike Madigan with the recent indictment of the four individuals connected to him in his role as Speaker of the House. Madigan has broken our trust, he must resign as Speaker of the House. The Democrats have the power to do something about this, they are in the supermajority. If the Democrats want to stop corruption in the legislature, then it’s time for the Special Investigating Committee to reconvene and call on Mike Madigan to testify before the committee.”
