Illinois State Representative Dan Caulkins (R-Decatur) issued a statement following the verdict in the corruption trial connected to former House Speaker Mike Madigan:
“Corruption has plagued Illinois for decades. The guilty verdict exposed the arrogance by these convicted lobbyists and their complete disregard for the taxpayers of our state. With the Madigan trial up next, how many more people need to go to jail before the Democrat majority running our state government decides to get serious about passing anti-corruption laws. It’s time for the legislature to fight corruption.”
