Illinois State Representative Dan Caulkins (R-Decatur) issued a statement following Governor Pritzker’s fifth annual budget proposal presented to the Illinois General Assembly on Wednesday:
“What you just heard is a billionaire’s budget – no concept of where the money comes from or worry about costs. If Illinois is going to have record revenue, like the Governor suggests, we should be paying down debt, saving for emergencies, and making permanent tax cuts like Indiana and other states are – instead of election year rebates. I heard nothing in that speech that respects the taxpayers of this state.”
